Biography

Dr. Henry Vu guides students in the Center for Health Sciences Advising by assisting in the students' preparations to apply for health profession schools. With his past experiences in research, he is helpful in mentoring students to maximize their research experience for their health profession portfolio. Additionally, he teaches Medical Microbiology in the Department of Biological Sciences.

Dr. Vu earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Biology from Villanova University and his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame under the direction of Dr. Jack Duman. He did his post-doctoral work with Dr. Shaun Lee at Notre Dame. Dr. Vu's professional interests include researching the bacterial manipulation of the human coagulation system and studying how antifreeze proteins can assist in insect survivorship at temperature extremes.

Dr. Vu has also been the Head Girls Soccer Coach at Marian HS since 2021. His squad has been State Runner-Ups twice in Indiana. He has been named both District Coach of the Year and NIC Conference Coach of the Year two times.
